UPDATES:

8/16/2010:  Summer update!   Just back from a great trip to Estonia to attend my cousin's wedding.  Check out the blog  www.HelleMay.com for photos of the wedding and the wedding quilt I made for the happy couple.

I have added a new "Pattern Corrections" page under the "My Patterns" Tab.  The bad news was that an error was detected in the Treasure Chest Pattern.  The good news was that it was found during the making of a quilt using one of the Connecting Threads fabric lines as it will soon be featured as a kit available from their website/catalog.  www.ConnectingThreads.com  I'll let you know when it's available.

Finally, the third quilt in the Scandinavian Series, (HMD-107) Folk Dance is scheduled to be available late September/early October.

Helle-May Designs is all about quilt designs with a broader point of view - quilts that are rooted in traditional design, yet lean more toward contemporary colors and layout.

I discovered my passion for quilting just after my first son was born in 1999. Three years later my second son was born and I have been a stay at home mom ever since.  Quilting became a way to relax and provided a productive outlet for my creativity.

During these past 8 years, my quilts have been exhibited across the country with two Hoffman Challenge travelling collections, at two AQS Nashville shows and at the Quilts, Inc. shows in Houston, Chicago and Salt Lake City.  I have also been fortunate to have had three of my quilts published in magazines you may have read: Quilters Newsletter (Nov ’07), Quilt It for Christmas 2007, and most recently Quilter's Home (Oct/Nov '09).  Maybe you have already seen my work?! 

Last September, both boys started school full time. I have been using my new found free time to figure out a way to share my passion and designs fellow quilters!  Follow the  journey of each new quilt I design and then take your own journey with the pattern.  

My goal is to make my patterns clear and complete for confident beginners and beyond.  My website will contain additional information to help make your quilting successful as well as provide an opportunity for us to share our work and ideas. 

For me, the best part of quilting has been the wonderful community of quilters I have become a part of!  Welcome to Helle-May Designs!  Take a look around!
